Nourishment of Encouragement

Just as a dirty window conceals what's on the inside, so an unclean life keeps Jesus from being seen in us. We ought to ask ourselves, "Who do people see when they look at me?" If they see love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, then they're seeing Jesus through the Holy Spirit in us.

Galatians 2:20 — I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Nourishment of Encouragement

We often wish we could escape troubles — the pain of grief, loss, sorrow and failure, or even the small daily frustrations that constantly wear us down. God promises to be "close to the brokenhearted," to be our source of power, courage and wisdom, helping us through our problems. Sometimes he chooses to deliver us from those problems. When trouble strikes, don't get frustrated with God. Instead, admit that you need God's help and thank him for being by your side.

Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good.
