Nourishment of Encouragement

I cast my cares upon You because I know You care for me. I've made up my mind and settled it in my heart: As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord .

Nourishment of Encouragement

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Nourishment of Encouragement

Often the best way to influence someone is to pray for him or her. Paul's prayer for the Philippians was that they would be united in love. Their love was to result in greater knowledge of Christ and deeper insight (moral discernment). Their love was not based on feelings but on what Christ had done for them. As you grow in Christ's love, your heart and mind must grow together. Is your love and insight growing?
Philippians 1:9-11

Nourishment of Encouragement

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud...It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Nourishment of Encouragement

Holy Spirit, today I willingly and decisively give up the immoral habits in my life. I recognize that these not only offend your holiness and grace, but also harden me to your will, pull me away from your character, and blunt my witness to others. Please forgive me and sustain me as I seek to live a life wholly pleasing to you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Nourishment of Encouragement

More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ.

Nourishment of Encouragement

Psalm 70 (The Message)

Psalm 70
A David Prayer
1-3 God! Please hurry to my rescue! God, come quickly to my side!
Those who are out to get me—
let them fall all over themselves.
Those who relish my downfall—
send them down a blind alley.
Give them a taste of their own medicine,
those gossips off clucking their tongues.

4 Let those on the hunt for you
sing and celebrate.
Let all who love your saving way
say over and over, "God is mighty!"

5 But I've lost it. I'm wasted.
God—quickly, quickly!
Quick to my side, quick to my rescue!
God, don't lose a minute.

Praise is important because it helps us remember who God is. Often our prayers are filled with requests for ourselves and others, and we forget to thank God for what he has done and to worship him for who he is. Don't take God for granted and treat him as a vending machine. Even when David was afraid, he praised God.

Nourishment of Encouragement

Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name. Hebrews 13:15 NLT

Nourishment of Encouragement

— Psalm 37:37-40 —
Consider the blameless, observe the upright;
there is a future for the man of peace.
But all sinners will be destroyed;
the future of the wicked will be cut off.
The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

Nourishment of Encouragement

When we look at the vast expanse of creation, we wonder how God could be concerned for people who constantly disappoint him. Yet God created us only a little lower than himself or the angels! The next time you question your worth as a person, remember that God considers you highly valuable. We have great worth because we bear the stamp of the Creator. Because God has already declared how valuable we are to him, we can be set free from feelings of worthlessness.

Nourishment of Encouragement

When we do something well, we want to tell others and be recognized. But recognition is dangerous — it can lead to inflated pride. How much better it is to seek the praise of God rather than the praise of people. Then, when we receive praise, we will be free to give God the credit. What should you change about the way you live in order to receive God's commendation?

Nourishment of Encouragement

Righteous Father, please help me guard my heart and be wise enough not to place things into it that would rob it of its devotion to you. I want to be pure through and through. Please search me and help me remove everything that would steal my devotion from you and that would ruin my influence with others for you. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Bread of Life Food Pantry

Served 18 Families and a total of 75 people. The month of June we served 65 Families and 245 people. We are expecting July to hit 100 families and 350 - 400 people this will be moving closer to Pastors vision of 1000 people a week, we believe in August we will reach 500 - 600 people per week as we open the pantry on Wed nights, being the only exclusive food pantry open at night, we also need plenty of food drives and volunteers as this will increase our service to the community and be God's love extended as we try to feed God's sheep....... We will also be using Wed as an outreach to move the people coming on Wed into our church family ativities, CCK, 12:11 Youth, and other Wed night opportunities. As I sat in the pantry today preparing my thoughts for the day, I was moved by the scripture in Psalms 119:45 - I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments. I would like to challenge everyone who calls themselves a disciple including me, to examine the word DEVOTED, The dictionary says this, A zealous attachment, loyalty and affectionate. God spoke to me 3 things that attach themselves to letter E which should be our mission, Evangelism as the title and the action E's are:
Excitment - Zealous attachment
Effort - Develops loyalty
Energy - Which produces an affectionate love that comes from the Holy Spirit

We appreciate our Pastor and his loving heart to Reach up, Reach out and Reach Madison and beyond, but we need the whole body to function in Evangelism that will take excitment,effort and energy from you and I, so please consider what God is asking us to do to expand His Kingdom and win the lost. Thanks, Big V & Debbie G.
Thank you Lord for the hearts of your people who are willing to support Your vision.....
